JERID Company participated in the 28th meeting of the Professional Association of Rail Freight Forwarders - IBS, held on 7 - 8 October 2010 in Graz, Austria. EUROPEAN WAGON SHIPMENTS were the main topic of the meeting.
Members from 10 European countries participated in the meeting. According to the statement of IBS president, Mr. Krueger, concern over the future of this type of transportation, which accounts around 50 % of the total volume of rail freight transports, is vitally important for the freight forwarders.
The reason is the lack of competitiveness of railway transport in comparison with road transport and railways' receding from this operationally expensive system.
