I take this opportunity to most cordially invite you to a Specialist Seminar on “COTIF convention according to the Vilnius Act and its impact on rail freight”, which will be held by our company in cooperation with the Association of Forwarding and Logistics, on 09 March 2005 in the Congress Hall of the Regional Centre Olomouc (RCO), Jeremenkova 40B, Olomouc, Czech Republic.
This Specialist Seminar is intended for railway companies’ employees, forwarding agents, carriage owners and railway freight users.
The principal lectures at this prestigious meet of railway shipping and forwarding experts will be delivered by:
• Mr. Thomas Leimgruber, General Secretary of Comité international des transports ferroviaires (CIT) Bern on the subject of “Impending ratification of changes to “The COTIF convention” according to the Vilnius Act 1999 and the anticipated impact of these changes on the railway shipping industry”
Time of lecture: 9:30 to 12:00.
• Mr. Ján Miskoc, Head of RIV / RIC Bureau on the subject of “Future conditions of carriages in railway freight shipping”
Time of lecture: 12:15 to 13:15.
• Mr. Olaf Krüger, Chairman of the IBS Association on the subject of “IBS Association of forwarding agents and its role in Europe”
Time of lecture: 13:30 to 14:30
Following these lectures, a “Panel Discussion” will be held from 14:30 to 16:00, which will, in the presence of the lecturers, railway representatives and the representatives of forwarding companies and associations serve as follow up to the main theme of the lectures.
Representatives of the following companies are scheduled to participate, according to their preliminary acceptance of invitation, in the Panel Discussion: FIATA, IBS Interessen-gemeinschaft der Bahnspediteure, International Railway Transport Committee CIT, Association of forwarding and logistics of the Czech Republic, Association of logistics and forwarding of the Slovak Republic, IGTL PL, Czech Railways Inc. (České dráhy, a. s.), Railway Company Inc. (Železničná spoločnosť, a. s.), and MÁV CARGO.
The final item on the agenda of the seminar is a social get-together comprising with an opulent buffet, which will start at 16:00!
Lectures by Mr. Leimgruber and Mr. Krüger will be delivered in German, with simultaneous interpretation into the Czech and Polish languages. The Panel Discussion will be held in the native languages of the participants with interpretation into the Czech, Polish and German languages.
The RCO building, the venue of the seminar, is a 20-storey high-rise building, a dominant landmark which you can not miss, approximately 100m from the Olomouc main railway station.
